Psychological Evaluation

Psychological support at Blackrock WeighCare

Once your initial consultation is confirmed, our team will arrange the referral and Dr Fallon’s office will contact you directly.

We do not routinely schedule follow-up appointments with our psychologist after surgery. However, any patient who feels they would benefit from further support is very welcome to request this. Appointments are arranged on a case-by-case basis and are charged separately, allowing us to keep overall costs to a minimum while ensuring support is available whenever needed.

  • A psychological assessment is required before surgery
  • Conducted via Zoom with Dr Finian Fallon, Consultant Psychologist
  • Fee: €250 (charged separately)

Additional Medical Tests

Depending on your medical history, additional tests may be required, such as:

  • Blood tests
  • Endoscopy
  • Ultrasound

Costs vary by hospital. Our team will guide you toward the most suitable and cost-effective options.

The Aftercare Program

Supporting You for 2 Years After Surgery

All patients undergoing surgery at Blackrock WeightCare must commit to our structured two-year Aftercare Program. Long-term success depends on ongoing support, monitoring, and guidance.

What the Aftercare Program Includes

At Blackrock WeightCare, delivering the highest standard of care does not end with surgery. It is fundamental to everything we do that every patient feels supported, informed, and cared for at every stage of their journey. We believe the relationship between patient and clinical team should be built on trust, honesty, openness, and integrity, and this philosophy underpins our entire approach to treatment.

Our Aftercare Program is a structured, comprehensive two-year support plan designed to help you achieve the best possible long-term outcome after bariatric surgery. It includes ongoing care and follow-up with your Surgeon, Endocrinologist, Specialist Bariatric Nurses, Dietitians, and Physiotherapist. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that as your body changes, you continue to receive personalised guidance, medical oversight, and practical support tailored to your needs.
