I can not recommend Mr Robb and the team at Blackrock WeightCare enough! I had a bypass in the Hermitage on 21st Nov 2023 and 1 year later I have lost 50.3kg. Life changing treatment.

October 2021 I had my first appointment with Dr Robb. From the moment I picked up the phone and spoke to Deborah I knew I had made the right choice. She was so warm and friendly on the phone instantly putting me at ease.

I was previously unaware of the comprehensive support and services available domestically in Ireland for gastric surgery.

These people change lives! The transformation this surgery generated in me is just amazing. And I’m not talking only about physical transformation (I lost 79kg, 12.4 stones, in just less than a year and six months, and maintaining it!), but the energy that I have and the feeling I have about myself, the rediscovery of myself, the fact that I started loving myself again, taking care of myself with a vitality I haven’t felt since I was 20.

From my first day in that waiting room, I knew that I was in the right hands. From my starting point, I have now lost over 10st or 63kg. The pains I thought I would have to live with are now gone and I am starting to live again…I could not be happier with how my journey has developed. It is not always easy and there is trial and error but overall going with Dr William Robb was one of the best decisions of my life.

My weight was becoming so hard to carry and my blood tests showed I was moving into diabetes. I had my surgery in the Hermitage Clinic, and I have lost 5 stones in 6 months. I’m on half of my blood pressure tablets and should be off them when I lose all of the weight. Also, I have stopped taking the statin. Walking and moving are so much easier… I would not hesitate to do this.

From the very first phone call, I had found exactly what I was looking for. This is a weight loss clinic with a difference, not only do they understand your battle, but they genuinely care and listen. The aftercare was equally as important as the surgery itself. I cannot recommend the team highly enough. It was by far the best decision I ever made!

In 2019, now 116 kg (18.2 stone), I started looking into bariatric surgery options with the help and support of my family and partner, and at the end of that year, I met the lovely Deborah and had my first appointment with Mr Robb & Emer. To say I immediately felt like I would be in great hands would be an understatement. I am now 33, almost 3 years post-op and I can’t thank this team enough. My life has changed in ways I didn’t expect and I couldn’t even imagine. I have lost 60kg (9.4 stone) since the surgery. I began exercising as soon as I could to help the process, the skin and to build muscle and I am currently 58kg (9 stone).

I am now living my life instead of just existing in it!

I choose Dr Robb because he was reassuring yet very open and honest about the surgery and the potential results and setbacks, I felt heard and understood. Everything came together quite quickly and from my first appointment to the operation it only took a few months. Having the support of Emer and Niamh after the operation as I adjusted to my new normal was incredibly reassuring. They were always at the end of the phone when needed and incredibly responsive to any request. I have lost 74kg so far and am delighted with the choice I made!
