I choose Dr Robb because he was reassuring yet very open and honest about the surgery and the potential results and setbacks, I felt heard and understood. Everything came together quite quickly and from my first appointment to the operation it only took a few months. Having the support of Emer and Niamh after the operation as I adjusted to my new normal was incredibly reassuring. They were always at the end of the phone when needed and incredibly responsive to any request. I have lost 74kg so far and am delighted with the choice I made! I had been thinking about weight loss surgery for years but had always stalled on a decision. I had struggled with my weight since I was a teenager. My GP and an endocrinologist both recommended Mr William Robb. Eleven months after my gastric bypass and I have lost over 9 stone! Caring for my 5-year-old son has become much easier. I am off all medication that I had been on before the operation. I’ve gone from a size 24/26 to a size 14 and I can now buy clothes I like as opposed to buying what is in my size.

On my 51st Birthday, I weighed 144kg, that’s 22stone 6lbs. A BMI of 46. I was developing blood pressure issues and was borderline diabetic.
