On May 15th, I celebrate two years since undergoing gastric bypass surgery with Dr. William Robb at Blackrock WeightCare — and I can genuinely say it’s been the most transformative experience of my life.

This journey was hard, and it will be for anyone who does it. However, it also saved my life, I couldn’t suggest more to choose blackrock, aftercare versus getting this done abroad is worth it all,

I started my journey with Mr Robb in March 2022 when I rang his lovely secretary Deborah to discuss a consultation for gastric sleeve. I was seen to within 2/3 weeks for my first consult. We discussed different options from a bypass to sleeve and decided on the sleeve.

From my 1st consultation with Mr Robb I was convinced I’d made the right decision to get surgery and definitely chose the right surgeon.
I has surgery in November 2023 and hit my target by June 2024 losing just over 100lbs,

I needed weight loss surgery very badly as you can see from the photo below. I contacted Mr.Robb and he said I was a suitable candidate. I was scared that when I had surgery I’d be hungry but not able to eat. It could not be further from the truth. I love my food. But I just don’t need much food. Which is wonderful.

Hi, Noel Duffy here. I started my journey over 11 years ago. It all began in Galway Hospital, and then I got a call to move up to the Blackrock Clinic—which I jumped at. My first meeting was with Mr. Robb and his team, and I met them again at different stages along the way.
Life before surgery was okay, but I wasn’t happy in myself.

In July 2023, Dr. William Robb performed my gastric bypass surgery at Blackrock Clinic, and I can honestly say it was the best decision I’ve ever made for myself. Since then, I’ve lost 8 stone and, more importantly, gained an entirely new life. I’m more active, healthier, and happier than I’ve ever been, and I truly couldn’t have done it without Dr. Robb and his incredible team.

I had a roux en y procedure in Blackrock Clinic by Mr Robb in April 2023. I can honestly say the whole team were amazing. I had slight complications after surgery with my diabetes was very up and down but they looked after me well and I trusted them completely.

I initially met with Mr Robb in November 2022, I was a bundle of nerves but was immediately put at ease the second I entered his room. Mr Robb has such a calming, practical and educated approach – talked me through the good bad and the potentially ugly sides of the surgery,

I had a robotic SADI-S done by Dr Robb in Blackrock back in May. It has literally been a life changing operation. 6 months later I have lost over 70Kg (155lbs or 11 stone 1lb) i have gone from wearing 8xl tops and 46 inch waist to 2-3xl and 38 inch waist.
