In July 2023, Dr. William Robb performed my gastric bypass surgery at Blackrock Clinic, and I can honestly say it was the best decision I’ve ever made for myself. Since then, I’ve lost 8 stone and, more importantly, gained an entirely new life. I’m more active, healthier, and happier than I’ve ever been, and I truly couldn’t have done it without Dr. Robb and his incredible team.

I had a roux en y procedure in Blackrock Clinic by Mr Robb in April 2023. I can honestly say the whole team were amazing. I had slight complications after surgery with my diabetes was very up and down but they looked after me well and I trusted them completely.
Nearly 2 years later and I’ve lost around 8 stone but more importantly, my life has completely changed. I’m almost 62 years of age and I’m fitter now than I was in my 30s, 40s and 50s. I’ve just signed up to do this years womens mini marathon (walking as have a dodgy knee). I wouldn’t have even been able to do half of that before. I’ve reversed my diabetes. I do zumba, dance yourself fit and walk so fast now my husband has to keep up with me rather than lagging behind.
If anyone thinks they are too old, it’s never too late to change your life for the better.

I initially met with Mr Robb in November 2022, I was a bundle of nerves but was immediately put at ease the second I entered his room. Mr Robb has such a calming, practical and educated approach – talked me through the good bad and the potentially ugly sides of the surgery, but so reassuring of the future ahead post operation. Fast forward to June 7th 2023 I had my surgery – the staff in Blackrock Hospital were just truly amazing pre and post op. They changed my experience of hospitals forever. I spent 2 days in there under the care of the hospital and Mr Robbs multi disciplinary team.

I had a robotic SADI-S done by Dr Robb in Blackrock back in May. It has literally been a life changing operation. 6 months later I have lost over 70Kg (155lbs or 11 stone 1lb) i have gone from wearing 8xl tops and 46 inch waist to 2-3xl and 38 inch waist. I have gone from someone who struggled to climb one flight of stairs to doing hill climbing and hiking every weekend and easily walking 20 miles and I have come off all blood pressure medications since. This is only in 6 months, i still have weight to lose but I couldn’t be happier with how everything has gone. I’ve had no side effects bar not being able to eat as much. The first 2-3 months take some adjustment but now it’s pretty much life as normal (but better)

I can not recommend Mr Robb and the team at Blackrock WeightCare enough! I had a bypass in the Hermitage on 21st Nov 2023 and 1 year later I have lost 50.3kg. Life changing treatment.

October 2021 I had my first appointment with Dr Robb. From the moment I picked up the phone and spoke to Deborah I knew I had made the right choice. She was so warm and friendly on the phone instantly putting me at ease. When I went to the appointment Dr Robb suggested what surgery would suit me best and told me to think about it and make the decision I was happy with. I met Emer the dietican who was just so amazing. She spoke to me about the prep needed for surgery and the road ahead. She guided me through my journey and was always at the end of the phone or email to help me. I had my surgery February 2022 and it changed my life. I cannot express how amazing the team is and my only regret is not doing it sooner. I have lost the weight but not only that I have gained a new lease of life. I’m in the gym weight training and I just love it. My kids and husband said I’m a different person both mentally and physically. Thank you to Dr Robb and all the team at the Blackrock Clinic.

And I’m not talking only about physical transformation (I lost 79kg, 12.4 stones, in just less than a year and six months, and maintaining it!), but the energy that I have and the feeling I have about myself, the rediscovery of myself, the fact that I started loving myself again, taking care of myself with a vitality I haven’t felt since I was 20.

From my first day in that waiting room, I knew that I was in the right hands. From my starting point, I have now lost over 10st or 63kg. The pains I thought I would have to live with are now gone and I am starting to live again…I could not be happier with how my journey has developed. It is not always easy and there is trial and error but overall going with Dr William Robb was one of the best decisions of my life.

My weight was becoming so hard to carry and my blood tests showed I was moving into diabetes. I had my surgery in the Hermitage Clinic, and I have lost 5 stones in 6 months. I’m on half of my blood pressure tablets and should be off them when I lose all of the weight. Also, I have stopped taking the statin. Walking and moving are so much easier… I would not hesitate to do this.
